Pard NV007A Night Vision 16mm 4x Rear Add On

The PARD NV007A is great for shooting rabbits and foxes at night at distances approaching 200 metres, as well as for shooting rats with an air rifle at closer distances. It takes a few minutes to get the PARD lined up with your scope for the best picture, but once this is achieved the fitting collar can stay on your scope, enabling you to attach the PARD NV007A in seconds so you can carry on shooting when the sun goes down. Because it works through your scope, there’s no need to re-zero. If necessary, there’s a focus dial to make the target nice and clear and a collar on the ocular lens to sharpen up the reticle.

The fact that the NV007A is so compact is a real bonus. It only weighs 250 grams and is 106 mm long. We’ve not had to adjust the position of our scope to accommodate any change in eye relief. When we first used the NV007A we felt sure we would have to attach an external infrared torch because the one integrated into the unit itself looks so small. An additional torch gives a welcome boost, but we find ourselves using the onboard IR torch, which has three brightness levels, most of the time as it’s perfectly clear for FAC air rifle use as well as .22LR and even .177 HMR use at longer distances.

The menu settings are very easy and intuitive to use covering basic functions like default IR brightness, date and time and language. There are many other options too, including the ability to switch on wifi to connect to another device. The PARD NV007A comes with a rechargeable 18650 battery which gives many hours of use. I take the precaution of putting a spare in my pocket but have rarely had to use it. The buttons are easily accessed, even in the dark, to switch on the IR torch and to take photos or record footage onto a mini SD card. If you’re looking for a compact, well-made and easy to use IR product you can use with a glass scope, the PARD NV007A is very hard to beat.

Who is it for?

The PARD NV007A is for those who want to quickly convert their daytime shooting set up to carry on shooting in the dark. With an eye relief of around 35mm, it is not suited to rifles with heavy recoil but is perfect for use on PCP air rifles as well as 22LR and 177 HMR. It will work with just about any scope with an eye piece of 47mm or less.
