Pard NV019 Night Vision Monocular

The Pard NV019 is a handheld spotting monocular which features a powerful 1-6x optical zoom with additional 3x digital zoom, which gives an incredible overall 1-18x magnification. The NV019 features a built in IR illuminator for up to 200m spotting range, and wifi connectivity and MP4 recording built in.

The Pard NV019 is a hand held infrared spotter. We’ve found the 850nm IR illuminator to be sufficient for spotting targets out to around 200 metres although, as an IR product rather than thermal, you are more reliant on prey facing you and giving up their position through eye shine. It is nice and light at just 371g and is small enough to fit into a pocket.

The magnification range of 1-6x optical and 3x digital for a total of 18x magnification sounds good, but in all honesty, the image is pixelated at the higher end. That said, at lower magnification, it will help you spot rabbits across a field easily, especially if they are facing you. Although it looks like there is the ability to adjust focus by twisting a dioptre ring, you cannot. Instead you will need to adjust your eye relief which will compromise the size of the viewing picture to an extent. Powered by a provided rechargeable 18650 battery, Pard claims 4-8 hours use. We say it’s closer to four than eight and suggest you take a spare battery or two with you. The ability to connect to Android or IOS devices over wifi is handy, of more use is the video and photo function. In truth, thermal technology is superior. However, the NV019 costs a tenth of decent thermal, and is more than adequate to help you spot prey you would otherwise have missed.
